As the famous song (nearly goes) "I'd like to teach my body to run in perfect harmony"
Or indeed another line from an equally famous ditty, "Your foot bone's connected to your ankle bone"
Well my body isn't in harmony and if my foot bone is connected to my ankle bone then they and the rest of my bones have had a family dispute and all fallen out !
The fact is I've recently found running anything other than a bath a bit of a struggle, but that's ok, these things happen and when I stop struggling and thinking about struggling everything in the garden will be rosy again.
So in an effort to diffuse the rather irritating running period I've signed up for a little race this weekend, the thought behind this is that I get to run with people rather than alone which is always fun.
So am I prepared ? Well actually no I've only done two road runs over the past 2 weeks a 5 and a 6 miler, neither that great but at least I know I can do the distance.

| Best pace at the moment |
I've entered a little 10k race around the villages of Little Abington and Great Abington in Cambridgeshire.
The race, like many 10k's is a fundraiser for the local primary school so a good cause to stretch the legs, but strangely I am nervous of what the race will bring, oh and a little excited too.
My best time over this distance in 50:24 set in London but I'm way off that at the moment but that is not really the point. The point is I've signed up to run even though I'm not really feeling top form and it's going to be fun!
Last night I did a pre race track session consisting of an 800m warm up and drills followed by 11 x 400m runs at between 6:57 and 7:40 minute mile pace with a 200m jog recovery between each. Tough session but apparently good pre race prep.
Tonight I'm off to the PT and then will slot in another slow 3 miler on Thursday or Friday.
So come Sunday it's race face on, the only thing I can guarantee is that it will be a face with a smile.
I'll leave you with a couple more pics from around my way, happy running folks!
